THE ABSA Premiership entered its third week of action with less goals scored over this past weekend.
Four of the eight matches ended in a goalless draw with rookies Chippa United and Pretoria University bagging a point each after they held Black Leopards to a 0-0 draws.
The focus however was at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday night where Moroka Swallows took the home side, Orlando Pirates with a 3-0 drubbing. This was Pirates’ second defeat with the same margin at the venue in the hands of SuperSport United during the violence-torn semi-final of the MTN 8.
In another match that produced a number of goals, Ajax Cape Town registered a 4-1 victory over the visiting Platinum Stars in Cape Town on Friday night.
In Johannesburg at the BidVest Stadium BidVest Wits also registered their first victory when they beat Bloemfontein Celtic 2-0 with Free State Stars and Kaizer Chiefs drawing to a goalless draw while the KwaZulu-Natal derby between AmaZulu and Golden Arrows also ended in a goalless draw.
