BAIC – the new car brand in South Africa – launches its X25 SUV

BAIC, the brand owned by The Beijing Automotive Group Co Ltd from China, today launches the X25 SUV. The X25 is the second car to be released in South Africa by BAIC ahead of the company’s R11-billion investment in a vehicle manufacturing plant in Port Elizabeth, which is expected to be operational in 2018.  BAIC will roll out sales of its X25, which is currently being produced in China, ahead of going into local production in Port Elizabeth.

The BAIC X25 is a high quality yet competitively priced SUV with the retail price starting from 219,990 Rand, and is designed to appeal to young car buyers who are on a professional career path.

Some seriously attractive features come as standard with the X25, including seven inch display screen, Bluetooth, electric sunroof with obstacle sensor, reverse radar, and many more.  A high performance aluminum engine and Aisin second generation automatic transmission are complemented by advanced chassis technology supplied by MBtech.  Safety is ensured by four-wheel disc brakes, two safety brake assist, ABS + EBD + BA, and a high-strength steel body framework. Fuel efficiency is assured and matched by the X25’s compliance with Euro V emission regulations.
