Big night in Polokwane as Bucs, United clash

 

SUPERSPORT United will host Orlando Pirates in a crucial match in the Absa Premiership title race. The teams meet at Peter Mokaba Stadium on tomorrow evening. 

SuperSport recorded a fourth successive league win by beating Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 on Saturday night.

The Pretoria team has recorded eight wins, three draws and three losses from their 14 home matches this season.

Matsatsantsa are placed third on the Absa Premiership log with 48 points from 27 matches.

Pirates drew a third successive when they were held 1-1 away to Ajax Cape Town on Friday night.

The Soweto side has won just four of their 13 away matches this season.

The Buccaneers are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 49 points from 27 matches.

In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Pirates have met in 41 league games since 1990.

Bucs have 18 wins compared to 13 for United, while 10 matches have ended in draws.

SuperSport’s home record against Pirates reads: P20 W8 D4 L8 GF24 GA27.

When the teams met earlier this season, Pirates claimed a 3-0 home win thanks to goals from McCarthy, Chansa and Mabena.
