CALL FOR OFFICIALS FOR KASI2KASI TOURNAMENT

 

 

 

THE Organisers of K2K invites all soccer officials interested to register their kasi’ squads to take part in the K2K Soccer Tournament taking place from Dec 10-31 at the Protea Glen Ext 14, Sports Complex.

The following townships have been nominated to participate in 2012: BRAAMFISCHER ,CHIAWELO, CHRIS HANI SETTLEMENT, CENTRAL WESTERN JABAVU, DIEPKLOOF, DLAMINI, DOBSONVILLE, DUBE, EMNDENI, FREEDOM PARK, GREEN VILLAGE, JABAVU, JABULANI, KLIPSPRUIT, KLIPTOWN, LEFORENG, LENASIA, LUSAKA CAMP MAPETLA, MEADOWLANDS, MOFOLO, MOLAPO, MOLETSANE, MOROKA, MOTSOALEDI, MZIMHLOPHE, NALEDI, NATURENA, NOORGESIG, ORLANDO, PENNYVILLE, PHEFENI, PHIRI, PIMVILLE, PROTEA, ROCKVILLE, SENOANE SLOVOVILLE, SNAKEPARK/DOORNKOP, SOWETO HOSTELS,THUBELISHA,TLADI,  UNIVERSITY OF JHB Campuses, WHITE CITY, ZOLA and ZONDI and TOEKOMSRUS

Invited Kasi’s eligible to be voted are:

ALEXANDER, ATTREDGEVILLE, CARLTONVILLE, DAVEYTON, DIEPSLOT, DRIEZIK ,ELDORADO PARK, ENNERDALE, EVATON, HAMMANSKRAAL, KAGISO, KATHLEHONG, KWA-THEMA, LAWLEY, LEHAE, MAMELODI, MIGSON MANOR, ORANGE FARM), SEBOKENG, SMALLFARM, SPRINGS, TEMBISA, TSAKANE, TSEPISONG, ZUURBEKOM and DUDUZA.

Vusi Kunene, the Director of K2K said that “the format for the Main tournament will require each soccer Kasi squad to garner substantial votes by sms( costing R2.00) from their respective residents and general public to qualify for playing.

The key word to sms will be the full name of their kasi intended to be voted, the number to be sms’ed will be revealed on October 1. Regardless of Kasi’s that have zones, extensions have to form one squad from each Kasi soccer teams. Voting will begin on October 1-November 30. The highest 48 squads voted will qualify.

Qualifying squads play without paying any joining fee and will be announced on December 1. The last top 4 Kasi for the main tournament, get to share half of their winnings with the community they represented and spent it on an identified community project that will leave a legacy for their respective township and concluded that the total price for the tournament stands at R600 000 including other codes like netball (invitational) and aerobics with further prices to be announced on December 1.”

MAIN TOURNAMENT PRIZES are currently standing as follows:

1ST Prize: R 300 000 PLUS FLOATING TROPHY, 25 Gold Medals

 (R150 000 to the squad)+(R150 000 Squad together with Local Councillor to advise where to spend the amount for their local community they represented.) 

2nd Prize: R 100 000, 25 Silver Medals,(R 70 000 to the Squad), (R 30 000 Squad together with Local Councillor to advise where to spend the amount for their local community they represent.) 

3rd Prize: R 50 000 plus 25 Bronze medals

4th Prizes: R 30 000

5th – 8th Place Prize: R4000 (R 4000 per 4 squad= R 16 000)

9th – 16th Place Prize: R2000 (R 2000 per squad= R16 000)

All qualifying squads for play-offs (Top 16) will receive full playing kit

*** All participating players will receive Certificate of Participation. (1200 certificates for players, 96 coach and assistant, 48 for masseurs. Total = 1344 certificates.

***First Round games: All squads to receive T-shirt playing tops (numbered 0, 01 for goalkeepers and 2-15).

K2K will also be engaged in improving grassroots sports facilities by erecting fencing, build change-rooms at venues to be identified. Beneficiaries of the games include SANCA-Soweto, International Lions Club –Soweto who will be assisted on their various current projects.

Local Football Association (ZONAL) stands to benefit by being assisted towards acquiring of sponsorship for their league. Training course for local coaches -zonal and Roadshow for local Referees to identify and nurture refereeing talent as schools around Soweto will be done by JHB Referees Association.
