The long awaited deal came into effect at the announcement made today in Midrand at the head-office of GWM.
Caster’s deal, which has been pencilled for 12 months will see her promoting and marketing the GWM brands at various meetings and events associated with sport.
Speaking exlusively to Sports Focus online, the shy but naughty Caster said she this was long overdue. “I ‘ve done so much for my country, and now I think I deserve what’s coming my way, “she said shyly.
“With my injury condition having improved there’s going to be a lot of hard training during this festive break. For me there’s going to be no rest because of the local and international competitions next year, and this sponsorship will help in meeting my deadlines and concentrating on re-building my future, ” she said.
Although the ‘marriage’ is for limited period, the deal is optional for review depending on and off behaviour of Caster.
Sharing his thought, the jubilant Tony Pinfold, chairman at GWM said this partnership with the country’s favourite athlete will result in the company’s brand being elevated to the next step.
“For us, as the company this means great benefits, and also we intend to help Caster every step of the way in her endeavours to reclaim that glory despite what transpired in the past.
According to Pinfold their’s is to penetrate the young and hip market which the latest GWM sporty car resembles. This will have a direct impact on the young market, particularly those who will be entering the work environment or can afford the vehicle.
Pressed whether she had a driving license, Caster relentlessly, admitted that she did not but was working on obtaining one next year.
GWM a Chinese made entered South Africa in 2007 with a Single Cab pick up. More than two years down the line, it expanded into Double Cabs, SUVs, passenger cars and even a limo.
A strategically positioned dealer network looks after drivers from all corners of the country.
It’s quite clear that GWM SA has been growing from strength to strength. The awards received from GWM China serve as further proof of this.
In 2007, GWM South Africa clinched the titles of Best Sales Achievement, Best Network Promotion and Construction and Best Information Feedback, after only 10 months in operation.
In 2008 at the Distributor Conference in China, GWM SA received the Best Network Construction Award, Best Service Supplier Award and the Best Sales Manager Award, which went to Henri Meistre, GWM SA’s Managing Director.
“I’m tired of commuting because everyone would be on my case. Truely speaking, I needed some space and privacy.”
Indeed, she will be positively driven!
