The Cell C Sharks will have the full backing of principal sponsors, Cell C, as they head into their 2014 Super rugby play-off against the Highlanders at King’s Park in Durban tomorrow.
South Africa’s only remaining representatives in this year’s competition finished third in the overall standings and will now have to come through a tough challenge against the Otago-based New Zealanders.
Following last weekend’s impressive 34-10 victory over the Stormers at Newlands, in which they came close to edging the Crusaders out of second spot and claiming a direct passage into the semi-finals, the Cell C Sharks will go into the game with a renewed sense of confidence, to go along with a home ground packed with fanatical support and, hopefully, a Jake White master plan that will be perfectly executed out on the pitch.
“The Cell C Sharks have done a magnificent job in finishing the season at the top of the South African Conference and qualifying for the knockout phase,” said Jose Dos
Santos, Cell C CEO, “We are excited to be associated with a winning team and Cell C is fully behind the boys all the way to the semis and beyond, always believing they have a chance of bringing the trophy back home.” “In a show of support for the team, we encourage all fans to wear their Sharks clothing throughout the week leading up to this crunch encounter, especially this coming Friday when we celebrate Mandela Day,” Dos Santos added.
The match kicks off at 5.05pm at King’s Park stadium in Durban.
