Chenene promises to teach Chiefs' a lesson

They will battle it out in the annual Absa Macufe Cup on Sunday at Free State stadium. Kick-off is at 3pm.
Host “Siwele” have a point to prove once again that they’re no walkovers having to surrender to Amakhosi last year in the same duel after outsmarting them 3-1.

Having seen the green and white outfit in their recent games this season, Celtic does have the nerve and character to dismantle Amakhosi, this after making considerable appointment of new coach Clinton Larsen, and acquisition of in-formed players’.

Their defence is the talking point and whether it will be tested yet again, that on its own will be Chiefs’ prerogative.

Left-footed and speedy winger Bennet Chenene from Orlando Pirates’ has found himself a home and according to the latter, he promises to shine in front of multitudes of “Siwelele” fans on Sunday at the expense of Chiefs’. He promised!

Celtic’s, who will be unveiling new MTN sponsorship on Monday, will miss Bongani Ndulula who is on duty with the national U-23 team. As a result of their contract termination with Vodacom -which did not bear anything fruitful according to Celtic- the bookmakers agree that the grass is going to suffer as the result.

On the other hand Amakhosi who are the cup defenders it boils down to experience, pedigree and some-what attitude which automatically makes them favourites to do like-wise and win the match.

However, the absence of key players’ such as Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona, Tinashe Nengomasha, Jimmy Jambo and Thomas Sweswe, will give fringe players’ to prove their mettle once again of which coach Vladimir Vermezovic is the firm believer of development.

To make matters worse they’ll have to do without Bafana Bafana quartet Itumeleng Khune, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Sthembiso Ngocobo, as well as U-23 trio Mandla Masango, Lucky Baloyi, Lucky Khune, and Burundian defender Valery Nahayo.

A curtain-raiser game between Premiers 11 and Absa 11 will kick-off at 13h00 and there will be entertainment in the form of Shugasmakx and Silkour, Rhythmic Elements, Ba2cada, DJ Sfate and Ball Jugglers.

Gates open at 10h00. Tickets are available at Computicket, Shoprite Checkers, Celtic Office, Kenworth Spar, OBC Chickens, Shell Garage Rocklands and PACOFS.
