Chiefs and SuperSport in a clash for the semis space

THE Nedbank Cup’s defending champions SuperSport United have been drawn against the recharged Kaizer Chiefs in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup, WRITES NAKAMAPE LEKWADU

Matsatsantsa A Pitori who tomorrow face traditional arch-rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns in a Tshwane-Derby league match on Thursday won Ke Yona Cup last season after their glorious 3-2 victory over Orlando Pirates in a final match that was played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo’s capital, Polokwane.

Not only will United coach, Stuart Baxter will be looking forward for victory in this match but also to lift his secod title of this competition with the Tshwane-based side and his third as a coach. For the record, Baxter won his first Nedbank Cup title in 2013 while he was with the same Chiefs.

On the other hand, Chiefs will be desperately looking forward to win this match with the hope of proceeding to the last four in their attempt to win their first ever silver-ware under Steve “Koloi” Komphela.
