Chiefs starts their Telkom Knockout title defense against AmaZulu

KAIZER Chiefs eased a sigh of relieve after they avoided fellow big guns in the Telkom Knockout Cup.

In what looked like an easy draw for them, the mighty Amakhosi will kick-start their title defense against against AmaZulu whom they have been drawn against during the colorful draw ceremony held in Sandton’ Summers Place on Monday, October 11.

Three time league champs, SuperSport United also avoided big clubs after they were drawn against the PSL rookies Vasco Da Gama with Pirates and Sundowns having pitted against Golden Arrows and Platinum Stars respectively.

The rest of the draw is: Bloemfontein Celtic v Maritzburg United, Santos v Bidvest Wits University, Ajax Cape Town v Free State Stars, Moroka Swallows v Mpumalanga Black Aces.

The tournament starts on October 20, and the competitions committee was still to decide on the venues and dates before the end of the week.
