KAIZER Chiefs have opened a five point gap on the log after they beat Chippa United 2-0 in the Absa Premiership clash at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town last night.
Kaizer Motaung Junior and Kingston Nkatha scored all the important goals to guarantee the mighty Amakhosi three points in the bag that saw the Stuart Baxter’s led charges comfortably sitting on top of the log with 46 points as opposed to their tradional arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates who are second with 41 points.
Pirates on their other hand continued to drop valuable points after they allowed Bloemfontein Celtic to come back from a 1-0 deficit to score a heart-stopping equalised during referee’s added time in another league match played at Orlando Stadium last night.
The two sides face each other this coming Saturday in the second round of the league encounter, the match which is expected to produce fire-works. It remains to be seen if Pirates will reclaim their dented image.
