MAMELODI Sundowns will be looking for relying on Lady Luck to lay their hands on Telkom Knockout Cup silver-ware for the first time in many years.

The Brazilians take on Kaizer Chiefs in the final match of the competition on December 16 at the venue still to be decided. This after they beat their Tshwane rivals, SuperSport United 3-1 in the semi-final match of the competition which was played on Saturday night at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Chiefs on the other side had to rely on a 6-5 penalty victory over traditional arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates after this Soweto derby affair ended in a goalless draw after the regulated 90 minutes plus extra-time at the FNB Stadium in front of close to 70 000 spectators. Amkhosi’s victory was a sweet revenge after the Naturena based-side suffered a 3-1 defeat in a league match at the same venue a week ago.
