MAMELODI Sundowns’ Clayton Daniels will for the first time come face to face with his former club when the Brazilians take on Ajax Cape Town.
Sundowns welcome the Urban Warriors in the Absa Premiership clash at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, Tshwane on Sunday, and Clayton says he has a recipe for the Cape side’s downfall.
“I know their weak and strong points and I am definitely going to use that against them come Sunday,” said Clayton joined the Chloorkop based-side this season.
Clayton was very influential last season at Ajax’ success, the club he helped finished on the second position after they were narrowly beaten to the league title by Orlando Pirates.
“That is history now, and my focus now is on helping my new club win the league and to achieve that we need to collect points. The match against Sundowns is very important for us to win because it is the right thing to collect as much point as possible in the first round than wait until the second round where the competition will be very tough as some clubs will be wanting to avoid relegation while some to qualify for the top eight finish,” pointed out Clayton.
Sundowns are currently on top of the log with ten points from four matches with Ajax on the 7th position with seven points from the same number of matches.
Meanwhile the Absa Premiership action goes into a swing tomorrow with the main attention at the FNB Stadium where Kaizer Chiefs take on Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby at 3pm.
The rest of the fixtures tomorrow are: Platinum Stars v Black Leopards (Royal Bafokeng), Santos v Bloemfontein Celtic (Athlone), Jomo Cosmos v SuperSport United (Sinaba), AmaZulu v Moroka Swallows (Moses Mabhida)
Sunday: Free State Stars v BidVest Wits (Charles Mopeli), Maritzburg United v Golden Arrows (Harry Gwala)
