Cyclone Idai recently hit Mozambique and its neighbouring countries, Malawi and Zimbabwe, killing more than 700 people while more hundreds more were left homeless.
Georgett Naidoo, CSI Specialist said nothing makes her happy to see their employees dedicating their time and going beyond the line of their duty in making sure that those who are in need get help.
“Initially we had set a target for the employees to pack 1000 hampers, but they went beyond that number, reaching 1720 hampers each of hygiene/detergent and 1100 grocery hampers,” pointed out Geogett.
The day was consoled with 50 volunteers from CCBSA giving back to the Community by their time of 5 hours Community leave. CCBSA grants each employee one day community leave in a year to participate
“This is all because CCBSA is a responsible corporate citizen and is passionate about uplifting communities where we operate.” added Georgett who also thanked all associates who were able to attend to plough back and make a positive difference in this community
Georgett added that: “CCBSA employees will volunteer on a monthly basis at Gift of the Givers Centre and plan for upgrading the Gift of the Givers, Green Village Farm site on 7 May 2019.”
CCBSA’s partners, Gift of the Givers is a Non-Profit Organisation that provides disaster relief internationally, they also serve 200 lunch packs daily to students that come from diverse cultures & areas at Wits University

Search and Rescue Teams, Medical Teams, Counselling Teams, Emergency Supplies in the form of food, water, tents, blankets, medicines and high energy and protein supplements
