Downs and Wits in venue crisis

BIDVEST Wits University and Mamelodi Sundowns were this week caught off-guard after they were forced to move their home matches to alternative venues.

The Clever Boys have had their Absa Premiership opening match against league’s defending champions, SuperSport United on Saturday, August 27 moved twice in terms of venue. This after their home base, BidVest Stadium was undeclared unsafe due to the revamping purposes taking place at the venue.

The league announced this week that the match was to be played at the Dobsonville Stadium, but the venue was again changed to the Coca Cola Park.Meanwhile Sundowns who were supposed to welcome Moroka Swallows in Mamelodi’s newly revamped H.M Pitje Stadium had their match moved to Super Stadium in Atteridgeville. Kick-Off for this match is 8.15pm

Both Wits and Sundowns have registered BidVest and H.M Pitje Stadiums as their home base for the 2010/11 season.
