THE province of Limpopo has been reduced to one club in the National First Division after Dynamos failed to live to their slogan “Rikhomeni Ringa Peli.” (english translation for hold the sun not to set) when they were relegated to the lower division.
This after the Giyani based-side were condemned to the Vodacom League by Carara Kicks who beat them 8-2 in the last league match played this afternoon.
Before the match, Dynamos were on the 13th position with 32 points, and they needed nothing else but victory to avoid the chop in case Mpumalanga Black Aces lost their last match away to FC Cape Town, however AmaZayoni who before today’s proceedings were lying 15th on the log with 30 points turned the tables upside down, winning 1-0 against the Cape side to claimed the Pat Malabela’s owned side’s position on the log that saw them maintained their NFD status.
A little consolation for the people of Limpopo though is that Bay United managed to avoid the dreaded axe with an away 1-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers. The results has brought a big sigh for Bay who ironically were the best side in the NFD while as for Rovers it was a big blow as victory for them could have seen them qualified for the promotional play-offs.
In another interesting move, Pretoria University who has since been promoted to the elite league suffered the second defeat in a row after they surrendered a 1-0 defeat at home to Thanda Royal Zulu with Chippa United registering an away 4-0 victory to FC AK. The outcome means both Chippa and Royal Zulu have booked their place in the NFD Promotional Play-Offs.
