The much awaited Absa Premiership clash between Engen Santos and Kaizer Chiefs will kick off at 3.30pm tomorrow at the Athlone Stadium.
Engen Santos have suffered three successive defeats (against Mamelodi Sundowns, Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits), failed to win any of their last four games and conceded 13 goals in that streak.
Engen Santos is currently sixth on the log with 29 points, a challenging 15 points behind log leaders, Orlando Pirates and just 13 points behind second placed Kaizer Chiefs. The People’s Team have played 20 matches this season and have won seven, drew eight and lost five encounters.
This weekend’s encounter will provide another feast of football for local fans and Engen Santos will be calling on their seasoned campaigners, Tyren Arendse and Musa Otieno to lead the attack.
Following their two previous encounters, only a week apart, the teams Engen Santos and Kaizer Chiefs each have a win apiece and with both sides looking to gain maximum points, this weekend’s PSL encounter has the makings of a heated clash and one not to be missed.
“We’ve never conceded goals like this and it is unlike Engen Santos, but we have to bounce back.” says Boebie Solomons, Head Coach, Engen Santos FC.
