FOOTBALL fans in Polokwane have a reason to smile as they will continue to watch professional football at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex
This after Polokwane municipality signed yet another deal with three Absa Premiership clubs to continue using the facility for the 2012/13 league season which kicked off on August 3.
Apart from Black Leopards who will be using both the old and the new Peter Mokaba Stadium for all their home matches, both Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United have re-affirmed their marriage with the municipality to continue using the venue as their alternative home-base.
Matsatsantsa A Pitori have already played one cup match there, the MTN 8 which saw them pipptate Stars 3-1 in the quarter final match of the competition recently and they are expected to play their second and third match against Orlando Pirates on August 19 (MTN 8 Semi Final’s first leg) before they could take them (Pirates) in a league match on August 21.
Lidoda Duvha played their first match, the league opener against Bloemfontein Celtic whom they beat 3-2 on August 12 and they have since confirmed that they will also play six matches at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
As for Chiefs, their first match at the venue will be against Chippa United on Septermber 29 with their second one against Bloemfontein Celtic on October 6.
By far at least 26 matches are said to have confirmed for the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex for this season.
