FOOTBALL fans in Ekurhuleni’s Katlehong and Thokoza township will be treated to an action packed when township football in the form of Fritos Soccer Challenge this coming weekend.
The competition kicked off on February 18 in the townships of Vosloorus and Thembisa, then Soweto and Daveyton last weekend.
The Sunday tournament in Katlehong and Thokoza will be the last one on the 2012 calendar and the winning team will see each player receiving a smart branded kit which includes a jersey, shorts, socks, soccer balls and cones from Fritos. The runners however will not go home empty handed as they will also be presented with hampers of Fritos products and promotional goodies.
The past weekend saw Majantja FC beat Multi United FC 7-6 on penalties with Tripple S beating Orlando Chelsea 2-0.
The Fritos Soccer Challenge was launched as a CSI initiative to coincide with the introduction of the new Fritos Peri-Peri and Cheese flavours, as well as a new wavey shape.
The matches start at 10.30am, with two teams playing each other, followed by another two facing off at 12.30pm. Then, at 3.30pm, the two winning teams will meet in the final to produce the township Fritos champion.

The fixtures for the matches in Katlehong and Thokoza are as follows:
•Saturday: (Ncholo Ground, Moleleki Extension 2, Katlehong): Tripple S vs 11 Stars, and then X2O vs 11 Attackers FC(followed by the final)
•Sunday: (Thokoza Ext 2 Grounds next to Thokoza Mews Flat, Thokoza): First game, and then second game (followed by the final)
