This is where fun, laughter, and potpourri of various races will interact and bask in the success of Soweto hosting another major event after the successful wine festival, and of course FIFA World Cup.
Soweto Festival Expo promises to offer an uncompromising experience of culture, business and entertainment to all.
According to research, only a ¼ of Soweto residents’ spending power finds its way back to the community and the Expo’s mission is to contribute to the long term development of the greater Soweto economy and development of SMMEs.
According to the festival organizers Adele Lucas Promotions, this years’ show-piece will stand out tops due to large interest shown not only by residents of Soweto but other citizens outside Soweto and various races.
“The Festival is the principal event in Soweto that draws together business, SMMEs, youth, community organisations, consumers and all the people of Soweto on an annual basis to celebrate Soweto’s richness and diversity” says Toby Chance, Soweto Festival organiser and Adele Lucas Promotions Managing Director.
He went on to say that together with their partners the Greater Soweto Business Forum, they aim to improve on the quality of the experience on offer year after year.
This years’ fest is backed by the W&R Seta, and will come in-hand for those interested in furthering training in respective businesses.
Celebrated acts such as Ntando, Mzambiya, Pu2Ma, DJ Neo, Ndumiso and Mesh Mapetla will entertain the multitudes of fans expected.
It will also comprise variety of events, workshops and exhibitions covering everything from cuisine, beauty and business to and arts and crafts, comedy, poetry reading and storytelling.
As part of its educational empowerment Adele Lucas Bursary Board of Trustees and University of Johannesburg will recommend suitable candidates for the Adele Lucas bursary.
Tickets range from R 200 VIP, R30 adults and R10 for pensioners & under 12s.
