Prominent South African celebrities and media will officially launch the event on 13 November in Soweto, travel to 18 destinations and end back in Johannesburg in January 2011. Guests at the launch event will be treated to an authentic Soweto experience at the famous Nambitha restaurant followed by full suite entertainment at the renowned Soweto Derby to witness Kaiser Chiefs an Orlando Pirates thrash it out at the stunning new FNB stadium in Johannesburg.
“As one of the fastest growing automotive brands in the world, Hyundai understands the needs of individual vehicle owners around the world. In the iRange, we have created a range of vehicles that offers style, superior quality and a number of spec options to suit everyone. We are thrilled to be able to showcase our great new product offerings and interact with the consumer during this iXpress Roadshow,” says CEO of Hyundai South Africa, Alan Ross.
As the iXpress Roadshow makes its way across the country, it will stop at major centres and holiday destinations, enabling the public to stand a chance to win an iPod. All those who are brave enough to step on stage to showcase their individual talent during an “Xpression Session” will be recorded and their video uploaded on the Hyundai SA Facebook page. From there, the person with the most votes wins a brand new iPod. They will also stand a chance to win an iPod on the spot as audiences vote for the individual who expresses themselves the best. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the whole family to get up on stage and show the world your special talent. From there, encourage your friends and family to join the facebook group and vote for your video. The more votes, the more chance you have to win,” says Ross.
Having proven to be an exciting player in the global automotive industry, Hyundai is maintaining its frontrunner role in their commitment to green energy, with the funky i10 voted the most eco-friendly compact for 2010 in the United Kingdom. The iXpress Roadshow will also be South Africa’s first entirely climate neutral roadshow as Hyundai will offset the carbon used on the roadshow to minimize the impact of the event on the environment.
Not content with being a pioneer in the eco-friendly automotive space, it has also recently been announced that both the iX35 and the Sonata have been nominated as global Car of the Year Finalists for 2010. “We’re determined to be the leading car manufacturer in the world, offering our customers the best ranges, superior quality, stylish looks and advanced technology. This roadshow will be the beginning of showcasing our award winning range of vehicles to South Africa,” says Ross.
