ORLANDO Pirates captain, Lucky Lekgwathi says home-ground advantage will be key this weekend as the Bucs take another step closer to defending the MTN8 title.
Speaking at the PSL headquarters ahead of their MTN 8 semi final clash against Supersport United, Lekgwathi warned that Pirates will be renewed and revived when they face the Pretoria-based outfit.
“It is a different ball game on Saturday night because a winner is needed and we are playing at our slaughter house. Supersport should not be underestimated but it is going to be difficult for them in front of our fans”.
“It is always good to play at the Orlando stadium and I think we have a team which is good enough to go all the way”, the skipper added.
Lekgwathi, who has lifted the MTN8 trophy for the past two seasons, assured the fans that they would see a different team on Saturday night.
“We know the supporters are not happy with the lack of goals in the past few matches we have played”.
“The two games against Supersport were both tight games and we struggled to score goals because we were playing away from home”.
“We are confident that we will score the goals and we hope to put smiles back on the faces of our supporters by reaching the final” Lekgwathi told www.PSL.co.za.
The Limpopo born defender, who has a habit of scoring important goals for the Parktown based club stressed that the team’s poor form in front of goal should not be blamed on the strikers alone.
“The lack of goals cannot be blamed on the strikers because here at Pirates we play as a team and it is everyone’s responsibility to score”.
“We understand that we have to score in order to reach the final and the coaches are working very hard to ensure that we achieve it” he concluded.-www.psl.co.za
