LIMPOPO Netball Association’s newly elected president Suzan Monama said transformation of the sport and bringing unity amongst the regions will top their development programme this year.
Monama who was elected last weekend said some of the transformation issues have been addressed from the provincial level, but they wanted to focus on bring players of colour into the regional teams.
“All our regional teams had only black players during Netball South Africa’s national championships in Potchefstroom last, something that is of grave concern to us. From this year we will try to forge relationship with clubs from the white, coloured and Indian communities. Such kind of relationship will ensure that all the races are represented in all the teams,” said Monama.
“We will start to attract sponsors into the sport with special focus on the different mines in the province. We have informed the clubs and regions to start preparation for the Super 20 provincial tournament to be held in Sekhukhune district on February 26,” she said.
