LIMPOPO Tourism and Parks (LTP) will host the Women Expedition 2011 from August 6-9 at various tourism establishments throughout the Province in honors of Women in media and to celebrate Women Month.
Under the theme “From Newsroom to the Bush”, top female decision makers in the media fraternity will swap their ‘stilettos’ for boots, pens for torches, laptops for navigators, handbags for backpacks, suits for safari khakis.
“This is an annual event hosted by our hospitality and commercial wing Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR). The Women expedition has in the previous years recognized women from all walks of life including those from stockvel groups, event organizers, corporate organizations government departments and women in soccer”, said Rob Tooley, LTP CEO.
“In the previous expeditions, women were introduced to a range of wildlife and outdoor activities including: elephant tracking, target shooting, 4×4 trails, canopy tours quad biking, bird watching, golfing, helicopter flips, balloon flying, tubing, abseiling, boating”, added Tooley.
This year’s expedition will include a breathtaking tour called the Luvuvhu Eco-trail which will navigate the women from Polokwane to Shonalanga, Letaba Ranch Reserve before they come back to the Ranch in Polokwane. Activities will include: Sunset boat cruise at Shonalanga, Wilderness walk and Safari drive at Letaba Ranch, Bush lecture by Transfrontier Parks Destination, bush camping, Scenery viewing and birding watching, and sky diving at the Ranch, in Polokwane.
The LTP Women Expedition group will then join the rest of the other women celebrating the Women’s Day on Tuesday the 9th August 2011 at the stadium after skydiving to close off the adventurous activities at the Ranch, just outside Polokwane.
