The excitement, and the tension will continue to bubble away in the NFD this week, with 10 matches to look forward to in the next six days.
There is one game on Tuesday afternoon, Jomo Cosmos welcoming Maluti FET College to the Makhulong Stadium. The visiting side from the Free State have been inconsistent since returning from the Christmas break, drawing two, losing two and winning one of their five games, that victory coming last weekend with a 2-0 win at home to Blackburn Rovers.
Ezenkosi were not in action over the past weekend, their most recent match ending in a 2-1 away loss to Chippa United, a result which left the team in 11th position on the table, two positions above Maluti, although both sides have 22 points.
Moving on to Wednesday, there are three further games. Black Leopards will be looking for a third consecutive win when they face FC Cape Town, but it won’t be easy against Duncan Lechesa’s resurgent side that have not lost a game in six matches.
Title-contending Vasco da Gama meanwhile have not won in their last four matches, picking up three draws before losing to Sivutsa Stars last weekend. The Cape side are up in the Limpopo on Wednesday, squaring up to a Baroka FC team that moved up to fifth position after beating Milano on Sunday.
Witbank Spurs meanwhile get a shot at redeeming what was a disappointing 4-2 home loss to United FC on Sunday, Spurs again playing in Witbank when they host a Blackburn Rovers team desperate to get out of the relegation zone.
