The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed dates for the All Africa Games qualifying fixture between the SA national Under-23 and their Angolan counter-parts.
The first leg encounter will be played on Friday February 11 at the Cidadela stadium in Luanda. Kick-off is at 3.30pm. The second leg is billed for February 20 at the Sinaba stadium in Daveyton.
Coach Shakes Mashaba kicked off preparations for the Friday showdown with a camp in Johannesburg before departing for Angola on Thursday.
Mashaba has made changes to the squad that faced Egypt in an international friendly at the Germiston stadium last month, he is however concerned about the slow momentum of preparations due to the absence of other players who were still to report to camp.
“The players have been arriving intermittently in camp due to various club commitments. I would have liked to use players who are not getting enough game time at their clubs, this upcoming qualifier would have given those players a great deal of international experience. We are going to put up a good fight against the Angolans despite playing away from home. We are taking this match seriously, as a result there is no room for complacency in our approach to the Friday match,” said Mashaba.
The 10th edition of the All Africa Games is scheduled to take place in Maputo, Mozambique from September 3-18 this year
