The South African National Under 23 Team will take on the Botswana Under 23 National team in an international friendly on Wednesday, November 15 at the Cape Town stadium. Kick off is at 6pm.
The two teams are scheduled to do battle ahead of the already sold out Cape Town Stadium clash between Bafana Bafana and the USA national team in the Nelson Mandela Challenge, which will be played two-and-a-half hours later at 9.30pm.
The Under 23 sides are already in Cape Town and the home team will have their second training session on Tuesday, November 16 at the Phillipi Stadium at 5pm. Their first training session was held earlier in the morning.
Botswana is expected to touch down in the Mother City just after 4pm.
South Africa Under 23 coach Shakes Mashaba has selected a strong team to face their neighbours, with goalkeeper Darren Keet expected to be in goals after his heroic performance for his club Bidvest Wits where they defeated Absa Premiership log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns at the weekend. The visitors could be in for a busy evening when they come face to face with the likes of Phumelele “Ace” Bhengu, Ramahlwe Mphahele, Thandani Ntshumayelo, Sameehg Doutie, Masibuzane Zongo, Michael Morton, and George Maluleka.
The youngsters will be looking to make it a perfect curtain raiser and get the crowd in the mood for the main event which is played in honour of former South African state president Nelson Mandela.
