NFD's top clubs drop points

WITBANK Spurs and Black Aces both got much needed victories while the three title chasers the University of Pretoria, Thanda Royal Zulu and Vasco Da Gama lost their matches.

Bottom of the log side Spurs beat Vasco 2-0 while city rivals Aces recorded a memorable away win against Dynamos, winning 2-0 in Giyani.

Tuks, as the Pretoria team is known, lost 3-0 to Bay United and Thanda lost by the same score to African Warriors. Tuks stay in the lead with 37 points while Vasco and Thanda in second and third place respectively remain four points behind the leaders.

Blackburn Rovers have 32points and will certainly join the title challenge after their 4-2 win against Sivutsa Stars and although NFD newcomers Chippa United lost 1-0 to FC Cape Town, they cannot be counted out of the title race as they have 30 points.

United FC impressed again with a 4-1 whipping against Atlie FC who is also part of the relegation battle and FC AK recorded an excellent 4-0 win against Carara Kicks.

With about 11 games to go the title race is heating up with five teams gunning for glory while the Aces, Spurs, Atlie and Bay are in a dogfight to avoid relegation. Atlie are the bottom team now with 17 points as Spurs have 18, Aces and Bay have 20 each and suddenly this season has a very long way to go.-PSL website.
