Onyango officially joins Sundowns

UGANDAN international goalkeeper; Denis Onyango has signed for Absa Premiership ambitious side, Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Mamelodi Sundowns official website revealed that Onyango finally received his permanent residence papers and was duly registered with the Premier Soccer League this week.

The former Supersport and Mpumalanga Black Aces goal minder has been training with Sundowns from the beginning of the season. However, he was not eligible to play as yet as he was not registered with the League.

Onyango adds to the Sundowns goalkeeping duo of Calvin Marlin and first choice goalie Wayne Sandilands.

Onyango, who has represented his country Uganda at international level, has played for a number of clubs in South Africa.

Previously, he was in the books of SuperSport United and Mpumalanga Black Aces.

The 26-year old will be eligible for selection in tomorrow night’s game against Santos away from home. However, Sandilands has made the number one jersey his own this season.-PSL
