Pirates' Clifford Ngobeni looking forward to their game against Maritzburg United

Orlando Pirates midfielder Clifford Ngobeni says they have to be cool when they take on Maritzburg United, whom they face on Friday night in an Absa Premiership clash at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

This past Sunday Pirates beat them 3-0 in a Telkom Knockout Cup semi-final match and a heated backlash is expected.

“They will want to win after we beat them in the semi. I think they going to be very emotional and hyped up for this match, but we have to be professional and expect it,” the midfielder said.

“The loss is still fresh for them, I mean its a few days ago, and playing against a team that is so eager is difficult so we have to be at our best.”

Pirates are eighth on the Premiership table with 12 points while Maritzburg are 14th with only seven points. Ngobeni wants maximum points from this clash.

“We want to move up and a win is what is needed to do that. Obviously they are motivated by the loss and they also want to move up, but the team that wants it more will get it.”

“We just have to be composed and take them on as they come. I am expecting all-out attack but we won’t sit back,” he warned.

“This is going to be an explosive match,” he said excitedly. PSL website
