Pirates clinch the Nedbank Cup title

KERMIT Erasmus scored a brace as Orlando Pirates came back from a goal down to edge Wits 3-1 in the final of the Nedbank Cup at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday afternoon.

Jabulani Shongwe opened the scoring in the 27th minute to hand Wits the lead at halftime.

But Erasmus netted shortly after the break, before former Wits midfielder Sifiso Myeni doubled Pirates’ lead 10 minutes later.

Erasmus then added the finishing touches in the 71st minute to round-off an emphatic victory for the Buccaneers, who made it fourth-time lucky, having missed out in three previous cup finals this season.
