Roger de Sa turn a new leave of life at Ajax Cape Town

ROGER de Sa has been appointed as the new Ajax Cape Town coach, the Inkamva-based club announced today.

The clubs’ executive director, Ari Efstathiou, said there were a large number of applications.

“After long deliberation and thorough analysis of all the applications that we have received, we believe that we have found the right man to steer us forward. We have agreed to terms with Roger and he has accepted the position until 2016,” said Efstathiou.

“We have a young squad and Roger is a players’ coach, having played the game at professional level with Moroka Swallows, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits. His experience as a player gives him a distinct advantage as a coach,” added Efstathiou.

Roger has proved himself as an astute tactician with a good understanding of South African football, having coached at Bidvest Wits (twice), Santos and Orlando Pirates.


He is a firm believer in youth development, which is fundamental to Ajax’s future plans and has, during his time at Wits, introduced many youth players, who have succeeded internationally and in the
