Rosina Sedibane Modiba defend their Metropolitam SASFA U-16 Cup title

ROSINA Sedibane Modiba successfully defended their Metropolitan SASFA Under-16 Cup title when they narrowly beat Harmony Academy 1-0.

Zakhele Mgobhozi scored the only goal of the day, sending fans who came in their large number at the  Mamelodi Central Grounds to witness their Tshwane-based outfit which is adopted by the Premiership club, SuperSport United retain their title.

Mgobhozi stamped his authority a when he was later named the Top Goal-Scorer of the Tournament after having rattled the net nine times.

This is Sedibane Modiba’ second time to lift the trophy in 12 months after having done so sometimes this time last year when they beat then defending champions, Umqhele High School from KwaZulu-Natal whom they beat 4-3 on penalties in the final match at the Gompis Sports Ground in East London, Eastern Cape.

The Atteridgeville-based school went on to represent South Africa during the International Schools World Cup in Brazil.

In the other individual achievements, Harmony Academy’s goalkeeper, Motete Kgampepe was voted the Goalkeeper of the Tournament with Tshepo Ntlaba of Moholi Secondary School scooping the Player of the Tournament Award while Beaufort West High School were voted the Fair Play Team of the Tournament.
