SAB League Football Festival Continues in the Free State

Football - 2015 SAB League Football Festive - Osizweni Stadium - Newcastle - Kwa-Zulu NatalTHE Heidedal community in Bloemfontein is gearing up to host its first ever SAB League Football Festival. The Clive Solomon Stadium will be the centre stage where SAB in partnership with SAFA showcases the next football stars this coming Saturday (March 14).

Free State will be the third province to host a SAB League football festival after Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal recently held the football showpiece.

The SAB League Football Festival will see the Heidedal community coming together to enjoy a full day of football entertainment that is inclusive of coaching and refereeing activities conducted by highly qualified instructors.

Kovsie FC, Ace Lovers, Kingston FC and Lazio FC are the four teams selected from the SAB League SAFA Motheo Region to compete in what is expected to be a highly competitive SAB League Football Festival. Ahead of the exciting matches, SAB in partnership with the South African Football Association will once again conduct workshops for coaches and referees from the SAFA Motheo region.

These activities will be conducted by highly qualified instructors in a bid to improve the standard of coaching and refereeing in the country.

The SAB League still proudly holds the title of being the largest football development league in the country with over 30 000 participants across the country. Through its partnership with SAFA, the league has made a significant contribution to the country’s football through its leagues that are spread across the 52 SAFA regions. The continuous supply of talent from the SAB League has seen the local leagues becoming more competitive

SAB’s Manager Sustainability and CSI, Muzi Chonco believes that this weekend’s Football Festival will showcase what the SAB League is about.

“The Free State province possesses rich football talent. This is the province that is currently the holding the title of being the champions of the SAB League Under-21 National Championships. There is no doubt that we will witness an exciting day of football from talented players from the Free State and urge the community to come and enjoy the football on the day”, said Chonco.

Gates at the Clive Solomon open at 10am with lots of prizes and entertainment on the day.

Coaches and Referees Workshop      8am- 12.00

Kovsie FC   vs. Ace Lovers FC             1st Game Kick Off 1pm

Kingston FC vs. Lazio FC                     2nd Game Kick Off 3pm
