Chiefs out to stretch log lead at the expense of Wits

KAIZER Chiefs is expected to maintain their top position on the Absa Premiership log at the expense of BidVest Wits whom they meet in a league match tomorrow night.

The match at the FNB Stadium against Wits, kick-off at 8pm, will be the second encounter within a short space of two weeks after the two sides clashed in the last 32 stage of the Nedbank Cup in Nelspruit’s Mbombela Stadium. For the record, the mighty Amakhosi drubbed the Clever Boys 3-0 in that action-packed match.

Chiefs who last Tuesday went on a rampage, beating Black Leopards 1-0 in a one sided league match played in Polokwane, Limpopo  are currently on top of the log with 42 points from 18 matches with their close rivals, Orlando Pirates and Platinum Stars heavily breathing behind them on the second and third positions with 40 and 37 points respectively.

There is no doubt that the Students’ technical team are spending some sleepless nights as to how their defenders are going to bottle-up Bernard Parker and Lehlohonolo Majoro after the two orchestrated their down-fall the last time the two clubs met. For the record, Parker scored a brace with Majoro sealing Chiefs’ 3-1 victory in that match.

Meanwhile Kaizer Chiefs and Sports Focus are giving away double tickets to lucky readers for this match.
