Moroka Swallows will have their work cut out when they come up against Kaizer Chiefs in an Absa Premiership fixture at the Dobsonville stadium on Wednesday night, October 20.
Despite reaching the Finals of the MTN8, the Dube birds have not been all too convincing in the league thus far and dropped valuable points again this past weekend away to a spirited Maritzburg United side.
The Dube side is currently lying bottom of the log after taking just one point from their first four league games and according to their coach Rainer Zobel the side has not been playing well and will have to get their league campaign back on track when they take on AmaKhosi.
“We have not been playing that well, especially in our games against AmaZulu and our last game against Maritzburg,” said the former Al Ahly coach. “I know our players are always fired-up when they play against big teams like Kaizer Chiefs and I am hoping we will use this game to get our league campaign back on track.”
Meanwhile Swallows defender, Roger De Costa described the tie as a must win for the Birds despite their appalling start to the season. “Everyone is aware that we haven’t had the best of starts in the league but, hopefully we will bring our A-game when we play Chiefs on Wednesday night and win this game because it is very important for us to collect as many points as possible while the season is still in its early stages.” said the Alberton-born defender.
The MTN8 finalists will welcome the timely return of their talisman Siyabonga Nomvethe who missed the tie against Maritzburg United due to injury. Story by PSL website.
