WE ARE swiftly finding ourselves halfway into 2012 – and with the usual stressors of life; work and traffic, it certainly feels like it is time for another holiday.
If you’re searching for a place to unwind and relax, look no further than Tzaneen Country Lodge. One of the many good things about a place like this, is that getting there is convenient: it’s just far enough to make you feel like you’re well away from the busy city, but not far enough that it requires a long, labouring drive.
This lodge is set in the picturesque backdrop of the north eastern lowveld, in the Limpopo Province. And we found the setting conducive to some care-free relaxation and quiet time.
The peaceful setting is on 150 hectares on indigenous forest – and the brochure promises it looks beautiful all year round. All this natural beauty should help, if what you seek is some new inspiration, returning to the daily grind fresh and revitalized.
In the rooms you’ll find an informal, albeit elegant ambience: think of it as a home away from home. They have ensured that you don’t feel as if you’re in the middle of nowhere, though, bestowing the rooms with all of the modern day creature comforts, like wireless internet and satellite television.
Feel like a enjoying the scene of a trendy cocktail bar? The Rosa La Lounge at Tzaneen Country Lodge offers a selection of various cocktails, wines and imported beers – and with its big screen television, creates an environment to mingle, greet and meet. Sundays are celebrated with a grand buffet; where you can indulge in a wide variety of traditional South African cuisines.
Those individuals with seriously high levels of stress can visit the Earth Spa. Here, they offer hydrotherapy, a sauna and even a special Executive De-stress package. While you’re enjoying your detox session at the spa, the kids will not be bored – Tzaneen Country Lodge has a host of fun activities for the youngsters. There’s a petting zoo where kids can interact with donkeys, ponies, goats ducks and more. Thankfully, it’s all done under the supervision of the lodge’s staff.
When you’re done recharging the body’s batteries, you can take advantage of activities like rock climbing, absailing, golf and even quad bike trails – these are all within easy reach.
Tzaneen Country Lodge is truly in touch with nature, and is one of the “Greenest hotel in Limpopo and beyond.”
They use solar energy for water heating, energy saving light bulbs, and they engage constantly in recycling. They sanitise 18 million litres of water every year, for re-use on the gardens and flowers.
The fast pace of living in a city as busy as Johannesburg, grows tiresome at times. It’s a good thing that there are establishments like Tzaneen Country Lodge – a place that puts you back in touch with nature, and provides a scene in which to relax and forget about the stresses of life.
