Vodacom goes RED modishly

Ok, enough with market shares and its connotations enters the market value.

To show their mettle within the showbiz industry Vodacom went all out to throw a mother of launches last Friday at Orlando Stadium, boasting an impressive a la carte line-up of local and international dj’s spinning their discs for the Vodacom Unlimited Festival in the spirit of good market value.

Benefactors – Orlando Children’s Home and their little bambinos should be smiling from ear to mouth for being recipients, as a result of sold-out affair event.

According to media release only 15 000 tickets were allocated but through our naked eyes it far exceeded that, as throngs of ‘well-wishers’ came in droves.

What a blast it turned out to be!

Black-Coffee, who is partly behind the project, did justice and had everyone gyrating as he belted out hits after hits.

Speaking after the scintillating one-hour mixing, the latter said he was honoured for having seen this initiative come into fruition.

“The public of South Africa should be aware that this event was dedicated to the less fortunate: our young, orphaned children who despite the ordeal which they’re facing still need a smile to cheer them up.

And cheer them we did with help of media for publicizing the message to the public, and Vodacom for initiating the concept and celebrating the launch of their new red brand,” says the bespectacled Black Coffee with sweat dripping from his fore-head.

“I originate from humble beginnings, where at times conditions were not conducive for a human- being to live in,” he responded after being asked why he has children’s projects close to his heart.

“For me this is reinvesting back since I’m in a position to do so.”

The magnificent night also featured house exponents namely Liquid Deep, Christos & Vinny Da Vinci, Louis Vega, Tira, Culoe de Song, and Rocco, to name the few.

At this stage it is still unconfirmed whether the Vodacom Unlimited Festival(s) will be held in other areas or it was once-off project.

Head of Media Relations at Vodacom (Richard Boormas) was unavailable to verify.
