By NAKAMPE LEKWADU

IT’S not raining but pouring for Magesi FC after their head coach, Clinton Larsen dumbed the Limpopo side’s newly promoted Betway Premiership side.

Larsen confirmed his resignation from the club live on SABC’ sports show, Laduma shortly after the Limpopo outfit lost 3-0 to Carling All Stars in the Carling Cup match played at Orlando Stadium this afternoon (Saturday, December 21)

“This was my last match at the club, and I will be unemployed in the next five minutes. I would like to wish the team and its management all the best in moving forward,” said Larsen

Larsen said he was happy about his achievement in a short time with the time. This after the 53 year-old KwaZulu-Natal born coach had stirred Magesi to promotion to the elite league last season before he could guide them to lifting the Carling Knockout Cup, a courtesy of 2-1 triumph over giants, Mamelodi Sundowns. “I am proud of my achievement with this club for short period I have been with them,” he said.

Despite their Carling Knockout sterling performance that even saw their goalkeeper, Elvis Chipezeze winning Man of the Match in all their four games, including the final match against Sundown. Magesi have failed dismally in their first nine league games as they only managed one victory, three draws while losing five matches and they find themselves in the bottom of the log with only six points. Their next league match will be at home (Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on December 29 against second placed, Orlando Pirates. The last time the two sides met was in the Carling Knockout which saw the Limpopo side emerged 3-2 victors.
