NINE GOALS SCORED IN THE OPENING MATCHES OF THE 2024/25 BETWAY PREMIERSHIP SEASON

2024/25 Betway Premiership Season got off to a good start with nine goals scored in four matches played at various venues across the country.

The main focus was at Free State Stadium, Bloemfontein the province of Free State where Marumo Gallants entertained what looks like a rejuvenated Kaizer Chiefs in a sold-out match. Chiefs went on to win the game 2-1 in this sizzling encounter on Saturday afternoon.

In another exciting match, Polokwane City started their season on a high note with a 2-1 victory over the visiting AmaZulu. This match was played at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane in Limpopo.

At the Harry Gwala Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal, Royal AM were held go a 1-all draw by the visiting Cape Town City

On Sunday, Richards Bay registered a 1-0 victory over TS Galaxy at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban with Richards

Local Derbies: The last block of Betway Premiership continues on Tuesday and Wednesday with the main focus on the local derbies with the first derby when defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns welcome SuperSport United. Kick-Off at the Loftus Stadium in Tshwane is at 7.30pm

On Wednesday, Limpopo football fanatics will witness the first Limpopo Derby of the season whe Sekhukhune United rub shoulders with newly promoted Magesi FC. The match at the New Peter Mokaba Sadium starts also at 7.30pm

On the same night (Wednesday), the recharged MTN8 Finalists, Orlando Pirates will be up against Chippa United at home at the Orlando Stadium while Stellenbosch FC will be welcoming Golden Arrows at the Athlone Stadium. The two matches also start at 7.30pm
