The new high-tech Mahindra XUV700 built for comfort and safety

The Mahindra XU700 is finally here but so confiddent is Indian brand maker that pre-orders for the South African market opened as far back as November 2022.

What’s in the midsize SUV to inspire so much confidence? Of course it’s way far beyond the alluring new “Twin Peaks” logo for Mahindra cars. From the outside, the new model incorporates distinctive design elements such as accentuated wheel arches, a strong wedge-shaped body with large windows and big,

sculpted lights.

In simple terms, the XUV700 is a sight to behold but there should be a lot more to make it desirable more so in a highly competitive SUV like South Africa’s.

“Our Twin Peaks logo signals that Mahindra is ready for the future and that it will continue to innovate and create products for a global audience that is hungry for modern vehicles that offer luxury and durability and which are within reach of people of all walks of life,” says Rajesh Gupta, CEO of Mahindra South Africa.

XU700 Mahindra is proving the point that India is home for modern techology. Therefore, being in the XUV does not only pleases the driver behind the wheel but a delightful experience for passengers as well.

The innovation starts in the engine compartment, where the XUV700 offers the choice of next-generation turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel engines.

The engine range includes a new 2.0 litre mSTALLION GDi turbo-petrol engine with 147 kW and 380 Nm of torque and a brand-new 2.2 litre CRDe turbodiesel mHAWK engine with up to 136 kW and a powerful 450 Nm of torque.

The XUV700 delivers its power to the front or all-four wheels through a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Interior Inside, the XUV700is boasts modern technology at every touchpoint, while the cockpit is akin to “sci-fi tech”, thanks to relentless innovation efforts by Mahindra’s engineers and technology specialists. These include a new super screen that combines two 10.25″ high-definition screens into one massive display of vehicle and entertainment information.

The rest of what you can think of or imagine inside a technological empowered car are all there, from a personal tech to smart features for comfort and safety.

Safety:

The new Mahindra XUV700 is the new flag bearer for the Global New Car Assessment Programme’s Safety Drives Initiative. It’s a mighty reputation to shout about as safety in modern motoring cannot be compromised.

Designed with a unique tubular ring structure and high-tensile steel for the greatest structural integrity, the XUV700 received a full five-star safety rating for adult occupants and four stars for child safety. It also received a GNCAP safer Choice Awards as the safest car GNCAP ever tested. It takes this titles from its sibling, the sporty and compact XUV300, just to vouch for Mahindra’s determination to be ahead of the field in the safety.

The list of safety features include systems such as Front Collision Warning, Driver Drowness Detection, up to 7 Airbags and Auto Emergency Braking.

All these points to reasons why the XUV700 is the reigning Indian Car of the Year, as well as winner of multiple category awards in various Indian vehicle competitions.
